Israel: International force would hinder future IDF operations
British Prime Minister Tony Blair and United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan called Monday for the deployment of an international force in southern Lebanon, in order to end the spiraling conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
Why would you send defenseless UN troops into a war zone? The fact that Russia is now volunteering to send in troops certainly can’t be good. If you ask me, somebody has something to hide and they are looking for a way to get some friendlies on the ground to help in the cover up.

The UN should know better than to offer to send troops anywhere that there will be any fighting going on (as the UN troops do not engage in any fighting).

There is already an international force there. It’s called UNIFIL - and a fat lot of good they’ve done in the decades they’ve been there! Rather than stopping a single Hezbollah rocket or terrorist attack, they have actively helped them in their work (example, refusal to release UN film of Hezbollah activities etc).
I expect that rubbish from the corrupt Annan, but Blair should know better. It’s good to see Bush telling Blair what’s what in their dinner conversation.

Tony: I lost what little use I had for UNIFIL when the Fijian contingent was withdrawn a year or two ago. THEY at least knew how and when to fight…

Better Russia than Turkey.
The Turkish stopped the invasion of Iraq in the North allowing Sadam’s army to escape…and cause trouble since then.
Yes, the Russians sold nuclear material to Iran, but they are so slimy that they would think nothing of destroying what they sold, as long as they made a profit.
